Having recently sold a property with Michael Lavelle Estate Agents, I would like to thank the whole team at Lavelles for an excellent experience. I acquired a well presented cottage near Greenore through Lavelle Estate Agents. The experienced was mixed. The price was agreed quickly - in a few days and that was very welcome. I was a cash buyer and not in any sort of a chain. I had an excellent solicitor at Catherine Allison and Co. Dundalk to support me. But I found it difficult to get details through the agent towards the completion phase when funds are transferred. My calls to Lavelle Estate Agents were not returned promptly by the staff member who showed me the premises and was my point of contact for the purchase: I wanted information on contracts like broadband, alarm, utility, insurance etc and info on transfer of ownership. These are important to a buyer and prepping them takes some of the stress out of the move. So I would like to have seen more empathy for the buyer in having questions appreciated and answered. I couldn't help feel I was being a bother for simply asking obvious questions. On handover day I was given just one key to the cottage: the agent I had been dealing with was not present for this nor did she phone to make sure I had all that I needed. The office staff at Lavelle's were helpful throughout ( re booking fee, recommendations for structural survey and other advice and liason) and I would like to extend my appreciation to Sandra and her colleagues in particular.***************************A week after closing I received an unexpected phone call from Lavelle's following the review which I was invited to submit (see above). The caller was defensive. She was generally dismissive of the issues which I felt would have improved my experience as the buyer. The call was unhelpful to say the least.
We sold our holiday home in Carlingford earlier this summer. It was an emotional experience as a place filled with happy memories. Joanne and the team at Lavelle's were superb, gave us excellent advice on timings, kept us informed throughout the process, marketed our property appropriately and really showed us the value of using a local agency. Everything was done with warmth and professionalism and I would highly recommend them as a partner in selling your home.
